Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillator Training at Templeogue Tennis Club on 22 July 2014.
Sibéal Carolan, Lecturer and Programme Director at the Institute of Leadership, facilitated a workshop on Citizen CPR and defibrillator training at Templeogue Tennis Club on 22 July 2014.
Sixteen people attended the workshop. This brings the total number of members trained to 80 since training began in 2012.
The training was provided by Áine Neill and Sibéal Carolan, both Irish Heart Foundation and American Heart Association accredited trainers.
Speaking at the workshop Sibeal said “Sudden cardiac deaths account for up to 5,000 deaths in Ireland each year and it is proven that early intervention (ie CPR administration and/or de-fibrillator use) will help to prevent a number of fatalities. Templeogue Tennis Club is a keen to keep the training going so that a good percentage of the 1300 members are competent in CPR.
