Tallaght Hospital Meath Foundation Fellowships MSc Leadership Programme Participants at the RCSI Institute of Leadership
Ms Mairead Shields Chairperson of the Meath Foundation met with Tallaght Hospital staff members who are undertaking the MSc Leadership. This initiative has been funded by the Meath Foundation, Tallaght Hospital and the participants.The staff members sponsored on the programme are; Anne Murphy – Human Resources, Amy Carswell – Diagnostics, Claire Hartin – Laboratory Medicine, Niamh Smyth – Dietetics, Kerry Ryder – Information Computing Technology and Elaine Sweeney – Paediatrics.
The MSc Leadership programme focuses on the development of individual participants and their roles in their organisations. Developing students as reflective practitioners with the skills, confidence and awareness necessary to identify and implement evidence based management and leadership in healthcare management.
The programme modules are

- Leading Your Service
- Leadership and Management Skills for Future Professionals
- Applied Project in Leadership
The programme is designed to increase leadership capacity so that participants can maximize their function with increased confidence and maximize their potential and influence.

The RCSI Institute of Leadership provides Academic Programmes, Short Courses and healthcare consultancy services and their priority research interests are in patient safety and quality, healthcare management, leadership, and postgraduate education.
The Meath Foundation was established as successor to the Board of the Meath Hospital. The mission is to carry on the best traditions of that hospital by providing a focus for voluntary input into Tallaght Hospital.
