The Irish Association of Directors of Nursing and Midwifery Conference 2014

The Irish Association of Directors of Nursing and Midwifery held their annual conference on October 2nd and 3rd 2014 at the Silver Springs Hotel in Cork. The Theme of the conference was “Aiming High and Digging Deep “.
Guest speakers included:

  • Dr Siobhán O’Haloran Chief Nurse DOH
  • Dr Tony O’ Connell HSE
  • Professor Anne Scott Liverpool University
  • Professor Linda Aiken
  • and Dr Philippa Ryan Withero DOH

Delegates enjoyed a tour of the ”rebel city” which included a visit to MaryMount Hospice, The Irish Guide Dogs Training Camp and the Nursing Faculty at UCC. Speaking after the event Sibéal Carolan Institute of Leadership said  ”This was an excellent conference, the networking was really enjoyable. The speakers were very engaging and the panel discussion chaired by Mr John Bowman rounded off the two day event in a very clear way. Mary Brosnan, IADNAM President and her organizing committee did a fantastic job.”

IADNAM was originally founded in 1904. It is a designated unincorporated non-profit association. It is the intent of IADNAM to function as an independent voluntary professional association for the common, not for profit purposes of rendering a professional voice for nursing and midwifery leaders on matters of professional and associated national importance.
