MSc Leadership 2015 - 2017 Guest Presentation - Chief Nurse, Department of Health.

On 22nd October 2015 MSc Leadership participants welcomed Dr Siobhan O’ Halloran, Chief Nurse, Department of Health to the Institute of Leadership.
Siobhan gave a very interesting presentation on the subject of professional networking from a leadership perspective.

Within the presentation, the principle objectives of the CNO office were emphasized: to maximize the development and contribution of nursing and midwifery within the reforming health delivery system and to drive and support the development of a culture of patient safety and quality across the health system.

The CNO has an important strategic and leadership role which includes the provision of professional policy direction and evidence-based expert advice. The office undertakes the full range of MAC/Corporate duties including parliamentary, Oireachtas and general support to the business of the Department
