Institute of Leadership Facilitates HOPE Foundation Guests on May 17th 2016
The Institute of Leadership facilitated HOPE Foundation Guests on May 17th 2016 as part of an exchange programme
Ilon Metal, Senior Business Partner, based in the Netherlands, Merja Sankelo, Nursing Director of Education, based in Finland and Bodil Clemensen, Head Nurse based in Denmark are currently undertaking the HOPE programme and are linked with the Hermitage Medical Clinic.
HOPE, the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation, aims to promote exchange of knowledge and expertise within the European Union and to provide training and experience for hospital and healthcare professionals in this European context. This Exchange Programme aims to lead to better understanding of the functioning of healthcare and hospital systems within the EU and neighbour countries, by facilitating co-operation and exchange of best practices.
The guests from the HOPE programme attended a tour of the RCSI facilitated by Sibéal Carolan, Programme Director IOL.
Speaking after the tour Merja said “It was a great opportunity to see the RCSI on such a beautiful day, we also got a very good overview of the Irish Health Service and Post Graduate Education, the HOPE programme is a great networking opportunity".
HOPE, the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation,is an international non-profit organisation, created in 1966. HOPE represents national public and private hospital associations and hospital owners, either federations of local and regional authorities or national health services. Today, HOPE is made up of 36 organisations coming from the 28 Member States of the European Union, Switzerland and the Republic of Serbia.
HOPE mission is to promote improvements in the health of citizens throughout Europe, high standard of hospital care and to foster efficiency with humanity in the organisation and operation of hospital and healthcare services
