RCSI Institute of Leadership Deliver 1st ever European Clinical Leadership Development Programme for Surgeons

On the 3rd of September, 12 surgeons from Germany, Italy, France, Greece, India, Jordan, Ireland and the UK completed the first ever European Clinical Leadership Development Programme for Surgeons at the RCSI Institute of Leadership.

The programme consisted of three, 3 day modules where the participants learnt about Clinical Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Healthcare Quality Systems, Team Development, Finance, Developing a Business Case, Critical Thinking and Risk Management.

By the end of the programme they had all completed a change project in their place of work, prepared a poster on what they achieved and also delivered a presentation which was accessed by their peers. Sinead Fahy of Acility spoke at the awards ceremony and stated that "this programme has exceeded our expectations" and that we look forward to funding another programme in 2017.
